Sandra Polizotto, BS, LMT is the founder of Pure Massage. She has a bachelor’s degree in microbiology from the University of Pittsburgh and has been a Florida licensed massage therapist since 2002. She worked in research, industry, and clinical microbiology positions where she coauthored research papers and developed new technologies. She has extensively researched and practiced trigger point therapy, myofascial techniques, and is certified in manual lymphatic drainage by Evergreen. She has worked in a wide range of massage settings including chiropractic, medical clinics, luxury spas, and private practice in southwest Florida, where she helped hundreds of clients for 15 years. Now she focuses full time on creating and teaching continuing education, her professional passion and pursuit for over 12 years now. 

I founded Pure Massage from the pure and simple premise, that if you want to correct the root cause of pain, tightness, and/or swelling in the soft tissues, you need three things. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience. You need the knowledge based on the latest microscopic science of the mechanisms causing these dysfunctions. Then you need the skills to apply the most effective massage techniques to target that tissue specifically. Finally, you need to gain hands on experience by repeated practicing what’s shown by an expert until you can confidently approach each patient’s issues in their tissues with a collection of modalities. From there, you incorporate each tool into your session’s flow. 

Utilizing trigger point therapy for muscle tissue “knots”, myofascial treatments of the associated connective tissue tightness and fibrosis, and lymphatic therapy for detoxification of inflammatory cellular imbalances is a multi-pronged approach for the best results. Each 12 CE hour modality is designed as a “textbook” in video form with hands on demonstrations, detailing and progressing step by step.
